How To Roleplay In A Continuous Environment
Roleplaying in the realm is different from roleplaying in other roleplay forums, or Other Roleplays. Your characters do not just disappear after a roleplay has been completed, they bring along what they learn, the memories they receive, into the next roleplay. Hence, your character can only be in 1 roleplay at a time.
The following posts explain other important aspects of continuous roleplays.

Roleplays In The Same Place
If 2 roleplays are simultaneously going on in the same place, for instance, Bloodthirst City, they can be merged together at the roleplayers' decision. They can PM the Leader of their sub-forum and tell him/her to merge the 2 threads together and carry on. This is strongly encouraged.

Travelling In A Roleplay
Characters cannot remain in the same spot forever. When there is movement of characters in a roleplay from, say, Bloodthirst City to Mount Mystic, they can PM the Leader of their current spot to move the thread to Mount Mystic. Take note, though, that time is needed during travelling. Time will be discussed later in this thread.

Re: How To Roleplay In A Continuous Environment
Time
For convenience's sake, 1 day in the other realm will be akin to 1 day on Earth. However, within a roleplay, you are allowed to utilise time as you please. This means that you can spend 10 days roleplaying about something that only happens in 5 days. Once that roleplay ends, however, and your character joins another roleplay, time starts from the current day again. So what has happened in the time from the end of the last roleplay to the start of the first?
Downtime has happened. During that time, for instance, 1 week, your character has just been doing stuff not worthy of mention, like eating, sleeping and travelling. After all, you can't experience cool adventures every minute of every day, right?
If you spent 10 days roleplaying about something that happened in, say, 20 days, which is unlikely, you must stop playing that character for that matter of days you "owe" to the realm. This means that your character can only start a new adventure in another 10 days' time.
Travelling from 1 sub-forum to another directly above or below takes approximately 1 day. Travelling 2 sub-forums away takes 2 days, and so on.

News That Apply Throughout The Realm
If, say, a massive plague happens and all residents of Bloodthirst City, Savagery Forest and Mount Mystic are affected, your roleplay MUST include this piece of important news, regardless of where you are, unless you are at a spot where there is no way of knowing this information. If your characters are at a tavern in Lightradiance Wood, or worse, Savagery Forest itself, they will either hear about it or be affected in some way by it. Possibly immigration into or out of the places will be stalled. You have to mention it somehow.
News and weather conditions will be put up at the Realm Plot Discussion sub-forum at the OOC category.

Re: How To Roleplay In A Continuous Environment
Dead Roleplays
Over here, we only accept that a roleplay is dead if the first poster of the roleplay thread also posts in the last post with the word "Dead". In the event of the roleplay starter being absent, the other roleplayers can contact the Leader of their sub-forum to lock the thread for them so that no one else is allowed to post.
We discourage killing roleplays around here. There is no resolution to your story and it is tough to carry on your character's exploits. Hence, all roleplayers involved in the dead roleplay have to wait for one full day before joining another roleplay. The downtime rule is followed during that period. Roleplayers leaving a roleplay are advised to post a reason for their character's departure so that it is easier to go on.
